Eric Tillirson Named Director of Sales, Marketing, and Technical Service at Thiele Kaolin

Sandersville, Georgia December 12, 2003

Sam J. Smith, President-Elect at Thiele Kaolin Company, announced Eric Tillirson has been promoted to Director of Sales, Marketing, and Technical Service, effective March 1, 2004.  Eric joined Thiele in 1999 as Marketing Manager, and his current position is Director of Marketing.

Eric will have responsibility for the Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, and Customer Service areas.  In addition, Eric will oversee operations at the Thiele facilities in Wisconsin and in Sweden.  Eric received his BS in Chemistry from Presbyterian College and will complete his MBA from Georgia College and State University in the Spring of 2004.  Prior to joining Thiele, Eric held various positions with suppliers to the paper industry. 

Mr. Tillirson will replace the current Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Charlie Carter, who will retire from Thiele on March 1, 2004.  Charlie joined Thiele in 1993, following more than 30 years in sales, marketing and manufacturing management.  Charlie began his paper industry career in 1960 with Mead.  He moved to sales and marketing of chemicals, minerals and services to the paper industry in 1970, working with Monsanto, Engelhard and Sirrine prior to joining Thiele.  We are grateful to Charlie for all his contributions at Thiele.
