Dr. Prakash Malla Named R&D Manager at Thiele

Sam J. Smith, President-Elect at Thiele Kaolin Company, announced the promotion of Dr. Prakash Malla to Research and Development Manager, effective January 5, 2004.  Dr. Malla joined the company in 1992, and most recently has served as the Manager of the Paper Research and Applications Laboratory (PRAL). 

Dr. Malla joined Thiele as a Research Materials Chemist and Group Leader, and became the Manager of PRAL in 1998.  Dr. Malla received his Ph.D. in Clay Mineralogy and Chemistry from Rutgers University in 1987.  Prior to joining Thiele Kaolin Company, Dr. Malla worked as a Research Associate at the Materials Research Laboratory of Pennsylvania State University.
